Why is 18-34 years old to far apart for a relationship??? I mean if we love eachother why not??? IDK Im so confused everyone is telling me not to but he is the love of my life..........

It is a big difference. But never let anyone tell you you cant be happy. You and adult and if this guy makes you happy then stay with him. As long as your happy.

I think that it's more a matter of life experience. At 34 someone has already experienced college, turning the legal age to drink and going to bars, settling into a job, and possibly even a marriage and divorce. At 18 you just finished high school and still have a lot of milestones to go through. I know it's tough but I was in a similar situation when I was 17 and it upset me that I couldn't go to some of the places that he could go. I believe that once you hit 21 and can go to those places you will understand a little more of why that age difference is such a huge one. And after you are 21 it's not so much of a gap but if you can't experience life the way he can try not to fall in love. Let it be a fling if anything. People are supposed to grow together in relationships and experience things together and you won't get to see him experience those things because he already has.

Going out with an older man these days can draw attention to the latest taboo which is rightly getting lots of media time these days.
I am not branding your friend with any label here, but many see danger when an older man is interested in a much younger woman.
In the end you will follow your heart.

You might be able to make it work, but people are probably all looking at it the way they are because you are in totally different places in your lives. You're just out of high school, just starting your adult life, while he's established his already. That will make it really hard to make things work between the two of you because you're in totally different places. That, and he's almost old enough to be your father, which makes it a little wierd.

In 20 years, you'll be in your prime. ~ hardworking, with a career, a home, and a life established. You'll also be at your sexual peak, and he... he'll be in his mid 50's... 54. If you're happy, be happy ~ but look 3, 4, miles down the road rather than what's directly in front of you.

That is a huge age gap, but if you are both in love it really shouldn't matter!! Who cares what everybody else is telling you... If you let him go you might regret it for the rest of your life!! Listen to what your heart is telling you, and go for it!!

Dangerous ground. Too much difference in terms of life experiences, expectations, etc. If it is mutual, then who knows? Perhaps it will work. But if it is not, then I am afraid that, if the guy is not very decent, you are likely to be used. If he is decent, then he will say "no" ... and you should listen.
