Before, i mean a few months ago, I did not hear/feel them that much. Why did I suddenly begin to hear/feel them?

Smoking, stress, aggravation, and physical activity all raise your heart rate. If you are really concerned, I'd get a second opinion. Especially if you have chest pain or shooting pains in your left arm.

your doctor is dumb, you might have an abnormal heart beat.
is it loud? like loud enough that you don't need a stethoscope? Looking in my A&P 2 notes, there are 4 types of heart sounds. 2 (S1 and S2) are normal, the other two (S3 and S4)...well y'know, abnormal.
S1: is the lub sound, the first sound. This is the closing of the atrio-ventricular valves (the one's between the atria and ventricles). Signifies the end on diastole (when the ventricles are relaxed)
S2: is the dub sound, the second sound. This is the closing of the semilunar valves (from the right side ventricles of the heart and up the aorta). Signifies the end of systole (when the ventricles contract)
S3: is an abnormal sound. it's b/t S1 and S2 "mid-diastole" this is when the ventricle's relax when they shouldn't be and the blood just sloshes against the heart wall.
S4: this one can be heard at the end of diastole. Pretty loud i think.

Hope that helped, and hope you do get some help with your heart. I know one thing, I felt smart answering this question! :)

Then your just fine. When you can feel pain, then you might be in trouble.
If you can hear your heart pumping is a normal thing people hear. Most people never notice the sound of there heartbeat because its tuned out as an "everyday thing".

It's still beating! You have a pulse, a pulse pulsates all around your body, that's why they call it a pulse! At some points it's stronger than others, but whether ya like it or know it or not, yer ticker's still tockin'! Forget about it........ and it'll keep goin'! Ya listen to it for a while, ya might get a little worried, I'll tell ya what though, if it stops beating, then ya got a problem! And ya shouldn't be on the computer for that...

That is perfectly normal, your heart is a large muscle, that works 24/7 the only reason you notice it more when you are going to sleep is that you are not doing anything so small sounds and vibrations are more noticable.

so you got good ears. I feel my heartbeat when I am silent and relaxing but I don't normally hear it unless I am not feeling well and then I can hear it in my head or if I am in a real hot bathe than I hear it and feel it.

I don't think there is anything wrong with you. I can feel and hear my heart when I am relaxing, and I am perfectly healthy. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.
