the war in Iraq? Without carpet bombing, nukes, or changes in rules of engagement. Just the Bush tactics of US "offensives" that US troops never really know if they are winning or not because they don't have any idea how many insurgents there are.

Probably not. It would be politically incorrect. One must know and understand, this war is not about Iraq, Afghanistan, Iran or any other arab nation per se. It is a holy war and must be fought as such.
If you are Christian, Jew or just of the western society, you are a tare in God's garden. It is the duty of every Moslem to weed you out of the Garden.
This war is like only one that has ever been fought. It was the first major World War when the Moslems destroyed the known civilization from Bagdad to India.
20,000 or 300,000 troops will not make a difference. It is the minds of the Judeo/Christian peoples in which the war will either be won or lost.
Hard to grasp but fact.

It seems you have no idea what this conflict is all about. The purpose is to get the country stable enough to function on its own... not a small task when trying to re-build a nation that was basically take back 100 years by Saddam and his folks prior to the war. THE WAR, BTW was successful, it was to remove the dictatorship, and last I heard that dude is now room temperature. The situation in Iraq is not a good one, but please try to see the bigger picture. Assume we leave, Iran will 'OWN' the mid-east, with a manic at the helm, the Kurds will be at war with anyone that fools with their autonomy , the Sunni will more than likely be exterminated... and on and on... look at the results of our leaving Viet Nam as we did, Laos, Cambodia, and South Vietnam... 30, 40 million killed off

You're looking at a 4th-generation war in 2nd-generation terms, and until you get yourself educated on the difference, it's going to be hard for you to grasp. I'm neither conservative nor an original supporter of the war, but it seems to me the thing's begun to form into the type of situation that our government wanted. The British have judged things in the south to be in good enough shape to draw down their troop levels. Last week in the west joint Iraqi-US forces had some successful operations against Sunni insurgents with the help of local Sunnis (one would draw from this the inference that there is some level of popular support growing for Iraqi federalism). The al Maliki government, in place only a year, was in place partly because of tentative support from al Sadr, and it's a bit unrealistic to have expected that al Maliki could have taken a hard line against al Sadr early, but he is now. Considering that we went in with our own force structure completely wrong for the situation and we had to train our own people in 4th-gen. war, and then train up an entire Iraqi force structure, I think it's remarkable that there's been the progress there has been, especially if you look at it as not three years but only one since the start date, and compare that to the ten to thirty years this sort of conflict has typically lasted in the past.

The "War" can't be won. If you believe in the Bible, God said there would be wars and rumors of wars until the end of time in this part of the world. Bush needs to go live there if that area is so important to him.

I support the troops. They are doing what they are told. I don't support the cause. We went in to get Bin Laden and came out with Hussien. Granted Hussien was a bad guy, but what happened to the initial objective. This was supposed to be about 9/11 and turned into Bush's personal battle using our military.

You can't beat a nation on there own territory. Look back at Nam.

The American public hears about the ONE or TWO bombs that go off a day, but never about any of the accomplishments made by American and NATO forces. Dont get me wrong, one bomb against our troops is one bomb too many; but its WAR, one bomb a day is absolutely nothing compared to past American wars. But the media turns one or two bombs a day into that the US is loosing the war.

The US went in, took out Saddams military, took out Saddam, got major Al-Queda forces out of Iraq, recovered sarin and mustard gas from Iraqi fortifications, put in a democratic government, and gave the government a fighting force. If that is not victory, then what the Hell is?

Only thing them people understand is a bullet in the head we being just way too nice over there to win we need to divide Iraq up into 3 seperate states one Kurds,Sunis,Shites take their cars away from them, close the borders with Iran and Syria. Go door to dooor taking weapons away and if any resistance pull em out in middle of the street and execute them in public cut their heads off and bury em seperate from thier body (then according muslim belive they cant go to heavan)

It is a very complex situation. THe Iraquis arent convinced of nothing. I think the US should establish a time table so that the Iraquis can react on their. US should be involved in construction.

You can thank the liberals for the ROE's that are making it difficult.

What will actually work, and speed up the victory, is to let the military do what they need to and leave the politicians and all the liberal protesters out.
