Someone told me that you'll have to swipe them whenever you make a purchase and that if you buy alcohol twice in 24 hours then something happens, is that true?! I don't really mind about them because I have nothing to hide but what exactly will they have on them or what will they be used for? Basically I just want to know more! :)

Thanks for that rather heated answer there! :) I'm actually talking about the UK identity cards, forgot to mention that!

They will likely have details related to the provision of Government services, like your tax record. You'd probably have to hand it over when you do things like open a bank account, but I wouldn't have thought that you would have to hand it over for every purchase, except if the retailer is doubtful of your age.

It'll be years until they start issuing them, here's a Government website with all the details they have at the moment.

Bush signed the National ID act in May '05, it goes into effect May 11, 2008. You probably remember in the news about the National Drivers license. That was the national ID in another term. Pretty much, it's going to have a fingerprint, your Soc. Sec #, other important info and so on. Why you feel that you're ok with this is beyond me. ONE GOOD REASON: OUR FREAKING PRIVACY, THAT'S WHAT!!!! ARE YOU BLIND, THEY'RE TRYING TO CONTROL US AND WATCH EVERY SINGLE MOVE WE MAKE. Who cares if you have nothing to hide, it's our CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS TO BE TREATED AS HUMANS, not fricken lab rats.

Almost forgot to mention about the RFID chip. That's where it gets fun. You don't have that, you won't be able to do much in this country, like shop, work, etc. unless you have one implanted in you. Do you really want to be part of a control grid? I don't, I'd rather starve and die as a full blooded American, than live as a caged controlled animal.
