Why is it so hard for someone that agrees to talk to a recruiter to actually stick to what he/she agrees to and sit down and let the recruiter inform him/her/or them about the benefits about the Army? There is no way that any recruiter can put anyone in the service the same day.

It is hard for alot of people in our country to understand that intelligent, good people want to serve their fellow citizens.
These recruiters perform a valuable service for us. We see colleges and universities all over the country trying to keep them off their campuses, I think this should cause those establishments from receiving any type of federal or state money.

When you look at it, a Recruiter is a salesman. Each branch is competing against the other for your contract. They can only tell you what is available, not make ironclad promises.
You are right, you cant enter service the same day. There is a lot of paperwork, criminal checks, physicals etc.
The Military wants the best of the best, during VietNam, we took nearly anyone that was breathing. I had a guy that signed his name with an X and one that never owned boots. Times have changed, we want only educated and devoted men and women.
Being in the Military is a big deal...Its a matter of Life & Death, unlike being a warehouse worker

For starters, I believe every young person should have to spend some time in either the military or a civilian service such as the peace corps in order to be allowed into college. [[That is the Big Deal about being in the Military]]
One thing anyone should understand, a recruiter is just that. He/she is there for one thing, to recruit. One should understand that he/she cannot guarantee you anything. Your mental and physical tests will be considered in your placement along with the need of the service you will be joining.

there is no way a recruiter can put anyone in the service either. The recruiter can only give them the information for them to make up their own mind. We still have the volunteer force, at least the last time I checked.

Recruiters play mind games with those who are weak minded. They make the perfect soldier when they are too stupid to realize this is happening.
