I really like a guy who is a year older than me. He said he likes me too. We have been talking for a few days on and offline. 2 days ago was his semi-formal. He hasnt called or talked to me since. About a half a year ago he liked me too but did the same thing. Im starting to get sick of it but a day before formal he said he really means it this time. I dont know what to believe anymore

I'm really sorry, you're probably not going to like this answer, but...

If there is a problem with starting-up.... then usually, there is a pretty big problem.

I think in this case, he is not very seriously "in" to you. He sounds like he is just "using" you (he might not even know it).... as a "back up" girl (maybe for the semi-formal), or as an "ego-massager" (when he feels lonely, bad, or bored, if he calls you he will feel better about himself because he knows you like him).

To me, it sounds like he's "using" you as a back up girl.

You'll have to use your own 6th sense. If you're "starting to get sick of it" & you "don't know what to believe anymore", maybe it's trying to tell you something.

Never settle for the guys who aren't really in to you - no matter how much you like them. You deserve better.... but you'll only get it if you don't accept the guys who treat you like you deserve less.

the best of love -

Well, well, well, something must had happened at the semi-formal then, eh? He's not lying- he did like you. But maybe he hasn't caught you up yet with his (gasp) new girlfriend/crush. So he wasn't lying, he just found another.
P.S. you should too! (find another)

If he's playing these kinds of games with you now, imagine what kind of games he'll be playing with you after 4-6 months of dating? I honestly don't understand why girls - women pursue relationships with men who lie and cheat and act like jerks before they even start going out together!

Sounds like he considers you a safety net -- in case nothing better comes along.
