How do you get hotkey keyloggers on your computer and how do you get them off? What do they do?

They keep track of EVERYTHING that is typed...like im conversations, websites you visit, keeps track of everything. It's not a virus it's actually spyware. A lot of parents use this to keep track of where and what there kids are doing/going on the internet/computer.
