and does it bother you if people can see you sitting on the couch watching tv? I was at my moms house visiting and I closed the curtains after it got dark. My mother opened the curtains back up and told me that nobody could see in and that I was paranoid.....(I clearly made eye contact with somebody and I only glanced down) I have a 16 yr old sister and a 9 yr old brother and they live alone with their mother.

I personally close the blinds when it starts to get dark(supper time) I also don't like ppl walking by and are able to look inside at us watching tv or eating dinner. Next time at your moms...and it starts getting dark...ask her to go outside for a minute onto the sidewalk...(it will only take a minute for her to put coat and shoes on) and have her look inside the house ...then ask her what did she see? On that note...she'll get it that PPL can see inside* Tell her it's not a good idea for her to leave the blinds open with having a 16yr old daughter and 9yr old son and herself...so ppl can view what they are doing. It's not a matter of being paranoid* it's a matter of common sense/safety*....there are some strange ppl out there...and as you can see on the news...you never know who your neighbours are (beside you or across from you etc) Perhaps if you put it that way to her, she'lll get a reality check* GOODLUCK*

During the winter, I close them when it gets dark to keep the heat in.
I open them during the day to let the sun in. There's nothing like opening the curtains and seeing a bright new day.

I close mine, before dinner in the evening. It is no ones buisness what goes on inside, unless we want it to, and closing curtains help conserve house hold heat in the winter months when the sun sets

yes it bothers me so much .even during the day sometimes but always when it gets dark .its like someones going to shoot me. a few years back.i was going to shut my curtains and someones face was right up against my window.i can explain to you the horror i felt.i lock my doors during the day too.its better to be safe then sorry.so i know how you feel.everybody tell me i watch too much court TV but it shows me i have to be careful.which is a good thing

I shut all curtains at dusk, When you turn the lights on in the house it appears you are on "tv" to the world as they drive by and look in.

normally when it gets dark people close their curtains, that's not being paranoid, thats being normal
