OF COURSE. I am a professional poultry raiser at the Yellow Rose Poultry Farm, and i will promise you unless they have sat outside for 2 weeks or in the heat for several days they are safe to eat. Actually as long as they are fresh there is not any egg that is unsafe to eat. You more than likely have Arcana or Barb Rock Araconnas.
NOTE- IF YOUR ARRACONAS ARE YOUNG AND THERE IS ROSTERS RUNNING WITH THE HENS, CRACK YOUR EGGS ONE AT A TIME IN A BOWL WHILE COOKING THEM, THERE MAY BE BLOOD SPOTS IN YOUR EGGS IF HE HEN IS AROUND A ROSTER.

Eggs keep very well, unfortanetly you didn't say how old the eggs are so I wouldn't eat them.
Try your Agriculture extension agent listed in the telephone directory and he may be able to tell you how to test the eggs to see if they're good to eat.
When I was growing up, if we were unsure of the freshness of eggs, my mother used to test the eggs by putting them in a pan of water and some floated and some sank. I just can't remember which were good...the floaters or the sinkers.
Hopes that helps

Not knowing the age of the eggs I might not eat them but from now on be looking for them
Just refergerate them after you find them and you are fine to eat them.
Arrucanas lay light green or plae blue or light pink eggs.
I have one who lays a light blue egg and she lays about every other day.

Generally if i don't know how old the eggs are when i find them i either open each one i want to use into a bowl and check the egg. if it smells bad, it should be thrown away OR i float it in water. a floating egg is bad. i would try to gather eggs as quickly as possible after laying to ensure freshness, however, they do survive much longer than you would think.

I'm guessing you have an Ameraucana or Araucana chicken. They lay eggs that can be colored blue or green. They are safe to eat as long as they are not rotten. Do you have roosters? If so if she sitting on them they may be fertilized.

Is a yard chicken anything like a yard gnome? If so, sounds like you found Robbin's eggs. If they are fresh, cook them up and enjoy!

Your great-great grandparents probably raised chickens and ate the eggs. They aren't babies unless you have a rooster.

well, all eggs are safe to eat when they're not fertile. I would wait 28 days to wait for them to hatch or eat them.
