Regardless of how you deliver your baby, your body will "bleed" for 3-6 weeks because your uterus needs to heal from where the placenta left your body.
There's no way around it. Sorry.
It will usually last anywhere from 3-6+ weeks, but your doctor will check to make sure a month after labor to verify that everything is going well. For some women it will take a month or more to GET a period, more if you're breastfeeding. For others it won't take long to get back into a cycle.
Also remember that if you get a c-section not to overstress yourself. It's easy to do with a new baby.

I have heard from many friends that have had c-section deliveries, that they bled longer than those who have given birth vaginally, also, they had a longer recovery period because of the staples. I had both of my children natural. My bleeding was 2-3 weeks.

Yes... I had a c-section, and started bleeding while I was still in the hospital. If I remember correctly, it lasted about a week or so, and then I didn't get a period for about 2-3 months.... best of luck!!

Hopefully I'm an anomaly, but I bled for 11 weeks after my c-section. My doctor said up to 12 weeks was normal.
