You aren't doing anything wrong. Responses from god are imaginary. Please look for real people to help you during the "heavy" stuff, a counselor, friends, family, community members, mentors. They will be much more helpful to you than an imaginary thing.

I think that you answered your own question.
If all of the things that you listed did not help you to feel Gods presence then perhaps you need to be doing something else.
Look at what you are doing. Jesus told us that the kingdom of the father is in each of us. Is that where you have been looking?
He did not say the the father was in a building called a church, or a book called the bible.
He did not say that He could be found on a far off cloud called heaven where you have been directing your prayers.
He told you to look within. Have you been meditating? Try reading a book called the course in iracles.
It is the surest way to get a close personal relationship with God.
Love and blessings Don

he is there, maybe u don't really trust he can help u. they say sometimes when we are out of god's will that we can't feel his presence. u sometimes have to wait patiently , wrong desires ruin lives, also wanting it now, and not waiting on what he has planned for u is costly. god may not be answering your prayers because he wants u to be able to stand on your own. trust that there is a god, and wait for his wisdom. maybe what u are asking for will only hurt u, as he only wants the best for us. takes a long time to understand the bible, and its teachings, prayers will be answered, but maybe not as fast, or maybe not the thing we pray to happen, it may not always be possible to understand why, as some things just can't be understood.he will give u the desires of your heart, but only if its good for u. sometimes we try to get something we aren't meant to have, and we manipulate things, only to be hurt by it later on.

An important thing is not to decide the point at which you will stop trying. You're saying "i've tried these things" - past tense. The idea is to KEEP doing those things.
And anyway, what are you looking for? A feeling? A sign? The lack of either of those things doesn't mean God isn't real or is ignoring you. If you're looking for a good feeling alone, I suggest drugs. If you're looking for a sign, make that drug LSD.
I wholly suggest picking up The Great Divorce, by C.S. Lewis. It's like four bucks.

I'm sure you can stitch together some form of belief if you follow the threads laid down in religious literature. You could sew up some basic ideas by reading "Why We Believe What We Believe" by Andrew Newberg, for a start. That's a book that knits together neuro-biology and it's connection to mystical experiences. If you could weave "A History of God," by Karen Armstrong into your reading you might find that interesting as well.

You're not doing anything wrong. Just have patience and trust your heart. Those who seek instead of just staying where they're planted usually have the best relationship with spirituality. I would reccomend trying www.religioustolerance.org This is a site set up by people of different faith/ non-faith groups who want to coexist harmoniously. They give non-biased descriptions of about 45 different religious beliefs. It's a great place to seek without pressure or judgement. Be blessed!

What are you expecting, a vision of Christ in you room telling you all things? Be still before Him don't do all the talking be quiet and listen. Let the spirit fill your mind and thoughts. For me most of the time His answer come into my mind in what He has already explained to the world.. So stay grounded in the Word of God. If you will ask in faith He will aid you, you are His bought with a great price.... Jim

Sometimes having the wrong religious leaders in your life wil keep you on the wrong path...look else were, a diffrent church or a diffrent pastor. The Journey is not ment to be easy, but repent and you will be saved. Faith is the most powerful tool...if you believe (truely believe) you can tell and mountian to fall into the ocean, and it would be done. Sounds corney but faith will lead you.

If you believe in god, then have faith in Him. God is not a quick fix. He moves in His own time, but He's always ON Time! Your attacks aren't coming from God! They are the obstacles of satan trying to discourage you. You must learn to speak positively over your life and believe that you are Blessed and therefore cannot be Cursed! Fear not! The Lord Is with you. He is carrying you, now you must let Him carry your burdens. Here's how:
Simply say this, Father, I am trusting in You to make my yoke and my burdens non existant. I am being tested by the enemy of my degree of faith. I need You. Come into my life now Lord of Hosts and take over. I am in need of Your Grace and Mercy. I humble myself and place these things in your hands and am now believing in You for a miracle! In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen.

gosh, i have been there too. some ppl won't b open minded to this question but please take into consideration my thoughts. I have lived that lifestyle truly believing in something and being passed by. Life is life. I don't think that there is something greater out there for me, but I would take a hard look around and try other religions or a different church and just being real about things (not that you aren't). Based on what I have seen/felt and know I made a determination that there is no god for me.

Faith without works is dead.Try reading the book of Job and see if your problems compare to his. Also, remember that He does not let us deal with things we cannot handle.Time will get you through this "heavey stuff",but you have to try to work through it.Asking for help from others is not the end of the world.
