You are a good person. If you were not, you would not have identified things in your life which you regret. Bad people generally do not regret bad things they have done.

God knows this about you too. I don't believe he wants you to keep punishing yourself. Try to do good in the present and the future - do not spend it worrying about the past. There is hope for you.

There are so many reasons why there probably isn't a god, and definitely isn't a vengeful one. But you have to be ready to accept that. Live your life!! Unless you ran around stomping on flaming kittens, you probably just did something that some guy from the 2nd century thought was 'wrong'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internal_consistency_and_the_Bible honey, the bible says the most random things are wrong and that some very sick are right.

Okay so there's probably no God. But because Santa Claus isn't real doesn't mean the love wasn't either. Why spend any time worrying about an imaginary place when you're living a real life, with real love and real things right now? Maybe you're going to prefer a Christian answer (or Jewish or Muslim or Hindu) I hope you feel better either way.

Love your name, by the way. Betty Boop.

Things do have a way of coming back at you and mostly those things that you had total control of. I had a cat some years ago that showed signs of being sick. But I was busy everyday. Working long hours. Long, story short. By the time I got around to taking him to the Vet it was to late and he had to be put to sleep.

At least twice a week I think about that cat, how helpless he was and how I just ignored him until it was to late.

My belief as to karma, is that every bad thing you do comes back to you a thousand times over. But every good thing does to. One must forgive their self first and try to not do the bad things again.

There is always hope, and God will know who you are and what you have done in your life, make that a good life and forgive yourself and move on. You can't change that which has already happened.

Don't punish yourself for what you have done. You obviously have a soul as you are regretting your past. We are all humans, we are all flawed, we all make mistakes. Get over it and move on. Accept that these mistakes and errors are part of what has made you a better person.

I have neglected the religious/spiritual side of your question as I am one of those dreaded non-believers.

He does not want you to punish yourself for your mistakes. If you believe in God ask his forgiveness accept it and move on. Everyone has done things or said things they regret. Learn from your mistakes and pray for guidance every day.

give me at least one name of a person who has never done wrong things in life or mistakes in his/her life... !!!!! and even if u have done mistakes that doesn't mean that u have got the right to punish urself.. u r a gift of God .. and i don't think that the god will be at all happy by seeing his own kid in a trouble.. the way u punish urself... think about those dreams u had seen in ur beloved's eyes, ur mom, ur dad, ur friends etc etc and u will never dare to punish urself.. u wont get anything by punishing ur own self dear... i just wish u to come out of it as soon as possible...... wish u all the best.. God bless u ..

God doesn't want you to punish your self. He wants you by faith to accept the sacrifice that Jesus made for all of us so that God the Father wouldn't have to punish us for falling short of his perfect standard in our lives. That's why the prophet Isaiah by the Holy Spirit of God wrote these verses down over 700 years before God sent his Son to earth to save all who would believe on Him.

Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.

5 But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

you must except Jesus into your heart and than change your sinful ways...then you will be welcome into the kingdom of God. Love the people around you and go the extra mile to help people...and stop punishing yourself...once Jesus is in your heart your sins are gone and you can focus on the good and not on the bad of your past.

You must make up for the errors in order to learn from them and balance the ledger. For instance, if you have had an abortion, you could work with children.
