no you don't have to starve yourself. getting lean isn't about starvation it's about manipulating the endocrine system through diet and exercise to optimize fat burning.
if you have never been at 7% body fat before it will be very hard. it's always harder to get to a new low level of body fat then when you have been there previously. you don't have to get to 7% body fat to get a 6-pack, getting down to 10% is sufficient for most if there is sufficient mass in the abdominals.

If you starve yourself you'll keep more fat on than muscle!!!! So do NOT starve.
So eat your normal amount of calories, but go VERY low fat except for essential ones (1 oz walnuts a day and 1/2 oz organic peanut butter a day will suffice). Plus, there are some supplements (NOT medications!) that can help you (see the link below).
Be sure your fat percentage wasn't overestimated (see the second link)
Finally, the last link gives you an approximate idea on how to calculate your body fat.

No, if you starve yourself, you will lose muscle and ultimatley make your body fat percentage increase. You don't need to be at 7% body fat for your abs to show. Even at 10%-14% body fat, you should see some definition if you work on building up your abdominals.

The normal amount of body fat (expressed as percentage of body fat) is between 25-30% in women and 18-23% in men.
Yes, you would seriously have to starve yourself and ruin your health. Do more crunches, with weight resistance, to build the rectus abdominis muscles for that awesome six-pack you want.
