My dad never does anything for me.. He thinks he cleans up the house all the time but hes just doing a horrible job. He loves my brothers and my mom but seems to never pay attention to what I want and they are simple things like for him to start making my little brothers to clean up around the house and for him to start getting some rules. My mom even thinks that he doesnt do a good job cleaning up but she does nothing about it. This morning I woke up and our house was a mess so I got my brothers and I was like mabey if we cleaned up the whole house really well we'll get like a treat and I told my dad that idea ( i didnt really care about the treat I just wanted our house to be cleaner because its amess and its embarresing having friends over) my dad just laughs at me and hes like im not going to any toy stores. and I said then Im not going to clean the house and he said... finished in next box...

ok fine but you have to put your clothes away that I washed and put on your bed and why did u throw them on your floor and I said because It was 12:00 when you put them on my bed and I wanted to go to sleep but I'll put them away and hes like never do that again... Help!!

I think that both of you need to change your attitudes towards each other. Maybe some family counseling is in order here so that you can both get your negative feelings out with a mediator present.

your dad is never going to change. i think your mom has already aceepted that. if your house is crappy then it's a family thing you are not totaly reponsible for that. the parents are responsible for setting rules. and if they aren't doing that, and you are trying to do that, then good luck.. all you can do is clean your room, and take the initiative to do things like wash dishes, clean the bathroom, etc.
i hope you are close to being 18, because i would leave

If you want a clean house and you want it your way, I suggest you do it yourself. I'm surprised that your mom didn't do anything?
Your dad tried his best to do the job; and frankly, you should be thanking him. He works and comes home to do all the household chores too? Sweetie, not many men will do this for their family. Wake up and smell the rose.

WOW, your Dad cleans?
Mine didn't, none of the guys that lived at home did.
He does laundry to? My Father NEVER did laundry.
I think you could start telling your Father thank you,
because he does try.
You never mention what your Mother, the Woman of
the house does?

Parents can be a problem sometimes but they are our closest assets...... in other words........ they are family. One can have problems with a family member which is normal. The best solution to such a problem is by talking over with the person. State your complaints but in a mild manner. Don't get fired up it could make matters worse. Talk over with your dad. Tell him what bothers you. I am sure he would understand . Best of luck!

You want a clean house but don't want to lift a finger to do anything to make it happen, no you rather pout and say you hate the person that gave you life.
And to say you hate your dad is disrespectful and I am sorry he has such a spoiled brat for a kid.

Well you can be the better person and do a couple of things he tells you and then when it gets to far start running 4 the door and if he really cares about you he will chase you and then you will know if hes a good father

If you hate anyone it is you that are going to go through hell.You have to forgive.If you do not forgive others of there wrongs God can not forgive you of yours.Have You ever asked Jesus to forgive your sins and asked Him to come into your heart so you can go to heaven when you die.?

he wont change..but one thing that can change is your outlook. try seeing things from his perspective for a minute and see maybe why he is the way he is..
