First off the laser is NOT on a gun it is an laser pointer toy that I purchased at PETCO in the cat dept! I would never ever ever play with a gun with my cat...I should report you for thinking like an idiot!

I think it depends on the cat. my boy enjoys chasing it but will stop when he's tired, and is quite happy to move onto the next distraction. My little girl, however, goes completely insane and will look for it for hours after I've stopped playing, glancing up at the ceiling and darting around all the time. I've also made her hyperventilate, so I don't like using it on her a lot. I do find that I feel better by ending off the game by putting the dot in her bowl of food... she can try find it in there!

I don't think so. My cat loves the toys that I play with him that he can't catch or just catches for a moment. When I try others he's less interested. Funny you should ask. I found a pointer at work the other day. I'm gonna try it on my 7 month old kitten. I'll have to watch your answers.

I've used a laser pointer with my cat. For awhile it was ok, she loved it. But after awhile I noticed that she would get over excited & hyperventilate. This scared me, so I quit using it. For the longest time she would search the room looking for that red dot. Just be careful not to point it in her eyes. If it can cause damage to humans eyes, it can damage theirs too.

The cat may be previous it truly is playful degree and easily does no longer favor to play with the ordinary. yet another threat is the cat could particularly be blind or unable to make certain the ordinary because of the attitude it truly is presented. As for colorblindness i'm no longer too particular i imagine pictures look to cats fairly like the photographs seen through infrared scanners so the ordinary could particularly be "invisible" to the cat. the perfect issue to do could be to ask a veterinarian about it. wish i have been efficient.

Cats love those lazer pointers and they sell them at the pet store so I doubt they cause harm. And who said anything about a gun??

No, they love it!! And it's fun for you too! lol My friend's cat has learned the word "laser", and runs to him when he says the word, because he knows they'll be playing with the laser! Although he never catches it of course!

It's not bad for her, I recommend it as it's good exercise for her. She will stop if she is discontented. Think of it like a treadmill. You run and it;s good for you but you stop when you get tired of getting nowhere :)
