"Culticating"?

I hope it was a typo and if it wasn't you need some of that education yourself.

Anyway, the US since 1945 has been the major military power in the world. Its had to mediate a lot of disputes and since it also is the major financial supplier to the UN, how can you *not* expect a lot of money being spent on this or any country's military?

Do the math, buddy.
Strike fighter == 300 million dollars. Textbook == 20 dollars.

Personally I'm glad that we have a strong military, because if we didn't I'd have been brought up to speak German.

Education isn't going to be left by the wayside, don't worry.

Defending a nation inherently costs more than K-12 education. Weapons systems cost much more than Schools. There are all of the support supplies for defense that education does not need. As well schools are generally only a 9-10 month a year 7:30 to 4:30 job where as defending this great nation is a 24/7 365 job. Teachers actually get much better pay for their jobs than do our military. This I know because I am a veteran, and my son is active duty in Iraq. Compulsory education is not well respected because the teachers unions which happen to be anti-military, anti-traditional family, anti-christian, and quite often anti-American control the k-12 education process. When children are home schooled or in private schools the emphasis on education is very high. Public schools are too busy teaching and pushing social engineering to be taken seriously by many people. My question back to you is, Do you believe in national sovereignty? Do you believe that national defense, and military service are honorable?

You are badly misinformed. When I was a young man, there were no junior colleges where one could get an AA almost free of charge. You young ones are so spoiled. You will most likely very soon, experience the wiles of the world.
My heart goes out to the young in this nation, they're in for a rude awakening in the near future.
Look at the real economy. Not the inflated government acclaimed one. We, the USA has lost the manufacturing base that made us what we are today. That is gone for the majority. Ford company will most likely be a foreign owned company in the near future. They're on the brink of bankruptcy now. So is Chrysler, who is no longer a fully American company. Partly owned by Daimler company of Germany. General Motors is partially foreign owned and is also in poor condition. Where does your clothes come from, Your tools, a good portion of your packaged food.

The US Government has a 56 billion Dollar Education budget which is divided amongst the states. NY State alone for this fiscal year has a 19.16 Billion dollar budget for the state alone. We wont even go into the Billions that are funneled from the lotteries to the educations budgets. That's a chunk of change. When are we going to see some results out of all that investment?

Education is funded by the state. Not the federal government. Which is why standards are different in each state.
