im going next year, the thing is i (and a few others) wanted to visit summer bay. where exactly is it?western?queens? map links would be brilliant. oh and good luck in the ashes.

The most likely time to find them at Palm Beach is early to mid-week (Mon-Wed) as that is when they film most location scenes - however location does not necessarily mean Palm Beach, they may spend a day at Collaroy or McCarrs Creek, or they may even spend 3 days at Palm Beach - there's no way of knowing.
You are perfectly free to watch the filming as it is public land, however you must not get in the way whilst filming is in progress, otherwise they will have to ask you to move away due to Health & Safety regulations.
Don't try and speak to the actors during filming or in between takes, only approach them when they have a break from filming (though not whilst they are eating their lunch as that is just rude) or when they have finished their scenes for the day. However you'll have to keep your eye on them as they tend to move off home rather quickly.

Summer Bay is a fictional beach suburb. It is filmed in various locations but quite a lot is filmed at Palm Beach just north of Sydney. You can take a bus up the peninsula from the Manly ferry terminal or from Wynyard in the city. The bus goes through the northern beaches - Dee Why, Avalon, Whale Beach to get to Palm Beach. summer bay only exists in the tv series home and away- alf etc are only tv characters... grin
seriously it is filmed on a beach in sydney called palm beach... go from there.

i don't think it is actually called summer bay but you can make sure by using www.multimap.com. hope this helps you and good luck with your travels
