This girl who i like always says hi to me because im really shy and wont say hi first. We talk occasional on msn. one of her friends asked me if i like the girl that i like i was just wondering if this could mean she likes me. We r both in band and sometimes talk there we were also both part of our schools swim team.

I think that she does like you. If a girl is around you that means that she even likes you or you smell nice!!lol!!!!

Yes, she always says hi to you first, she probably likes you. (If you're not sure, see how she says "hi" to other guys.) You should be able to see this in her eyes. (Consider developing your people reading skills more. Very useful. It also helps you become less shy, since instead of focusing on how YOU feel, you can focus on how other people feel.)
If one of her friends asked you if you liked her, that REALLY means she likes you. (I hope you said something along the lines of "Yes.")
Ask her out - do it on MSN if you have to. If you're both in band & on the swim team, you've both got similar interests - that's a great base to start from!
