I'm 72. The same problem happened with me some four years ago. I was given all kinds of treatment, unfortunately without success. However, the falling out has stopped but my hair is very thin, so bite the bullet its not the end of the world.

It sounds like you need to increase the blood flow to your scalp. Try some light cardio vascular exercises combined with scalp massage. Also get hold of some "Foltene" hair and scalp treatment and apply as indicated. This will stimulate new hair growth.

You need to go and have a blood test.

1. Thyroid problems

2. Anaemia

3. Stress

As a healthcare provider my first inclination is to test your thyroid levels. Go to your provider and explain your concern....it will first be a few simple blood tests. Thyroid problems especially in your age group is not uncommon.

go have your hormone levels checked. Usually it's a sign of hormonal imbalance, when you produce little estrogen and a lot more testosterone your hair can start coming out.

Go to c your GP and they will take some blood for tests. Don't worry they will take your concerns seriously.

this is not normal and you know this so go to a GP and have some blood work done...also a check of your urine will help..don't second guess this as its a serious condition..
