I have the same problem, i find in the summer my hair naturally goes lighter because of the sun, but during the winter months I use a shampoo specially designed for red heads, try Pantene.
Hope that helps
And never dye your hair it will NOT go back to the same colour!

When it gets a little nicer outside go in the sun it always lightens my hair! its a cheap and easy alternative!=-)

there is a hyreb called henna you can put tea on it and put it on your hair and enjoy you new color
