In general, all edible bananas are sterile and hence do not have any seeds. They are grown from cuttings. The black spots etc mentioned are actually vestigal remnants of the seeds the bananas once had (botanists think about 10000 years ago!)
Now all is not lost, there are wild bananas out there which do have seeds. The one I am thinking of is a green variety I saw in Fiji - they actually cook it to eat it - eaten raw will give extremely bad stomach cramps apparantly.
So to answer your question, the majority of bananas do not have seeds, there are some wild ones that may have seeds.
Note that the banana seeds yu may see for sale are like those here - http://www.readytogrow.co.uk/seeds/c_bananas.htm
Doesn't look like bananas eh? Actually the Indian one is edible - i've seen travel shows where they've eaten that variety (or something very close)

sure. in case you chew right into a banana, you'll discover there are little black flecks by technique of the very contained in the banana, alongside with a darker stripe that runs suitable through the middle. those are seeds.

They're on the inside... and you see them.
They're the little black specks running down the middle of the fruit.

Seeds don't have to be large.
In fact, banana growers might have selectively bred them to have smaller seeds. This wouldn't be unheard of, considering almost all fruits and vegetables are purposely bred to have the characteristics we want them to. (Like color, size, etc.)

Yes, the little black specks along the very middle are the seeds, and the bits you eat are their food supply.
