Is it ok to be in front of computer 16 hours a day for 20 years straight? I started using a computer at the age of 10 and now i'm 28 years old and still sit on the computer ALL DAY. I excercise though or else my leg muscles would atrophy. But still is it ok to be on the computer this long? 8 Hours for my job and then 8 hours entertainment then 8 hours sleep.

If your life is narrowing to the computer and sleeping, I think this is not a healthy situation. You are young and life ought to be expanding and including more events, people, learning, activities, responsibilities, interests....

I personally would have a permanent migraine headache if I stared at my monitor for 16 hours straight. Get outside and breathe the fresh air!

The short answer is, absolutely not. You should spend time socializing with family and friends. Go to the library. Find other resources for entertainment, in addition to the computer.

16 HOURS? HECK NO! There are better things to do than sit on the computer wasting your life. Just find fun stuff to do with family or friends. Go out shopping or something, or get a job.

well lol to tell you the truth no its not good to stay on the computer that long daily. The flashing lights from the computer damage the cornea of the eyes and could cause vision impairments or if someone has seizure disorders it could cause a seizure to come on.

It sounds very unhealthy. You say you exercise, but when? You will develop back, wrist, neck, hip and eye difficulties after some time, if you haven't already. Get up and find another hobby. This life style is not social or physically healthy for you.

You really need to move more. That schedule is extremely unhealthy, in many aspects.
