I am one of Jehovah's witnesses and I constantly see people on here saying they "harass" others. I have never in my entire life, seen, nor heard of a JW harass another person, So what do you mean by harass you? Because if we keep coming back, that is not harassment. LOL....And if 1 pair of brothers or sisters come to your door and you say your not interested, then another pair comes, thats still not harassment. So please clairify this for me.

Ok now people want to say they never said this. But anyways to pink ellie the same words that are in your bible are in mine, but in plain english, thats like me trying to read shakespear, i would rather read something in plain english than the way they talked back then wouldn't you? it would be easy to understand. It is YOUR bible that has taken Jehovahs name out of it and replaced w/ LORD, GOD, etc so lets not point fingers. And I can show you any bible verse and you read it from your bible and its the same exact meaning.

In what universe does peaceful person-to-person canvassing once a year (or once a month) constitute 'shoving religion down another's throat'? This reminds a fairminded observer of the Shakesperian proverb "The lady doth protest too much."

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to "harass" a householder, or get him to "convert". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!

That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.

(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

The term harass is being used out of context, but it is easy to understand that some people feel disturbed by the weekly door to door knocking of the Jehova's Witnesses.

However, I grant you that the Jehova's Witnesses do not harass anyone. At least I have never seen them harassing anyone where I live.

it's not the 1st set that bother me or the 2nd, it's when I tell them nicely 16-22 times a month that I am happy with my religion, and they come back. I am a happy little pagan trying to do whats best for my family. I don't want my child talking to people they don't know, so when I come home and they tell people where talking to them throu a closed door about their religion. I get worried. I realise if it's a different person coming to the door they could make mastakes, but it was the same 7 people every time. we ended having to move so that they wouldn't come back. I'm glad we did becouse a few weeks later one of my son's friends was taken from his home from a person acting like a J/W. I don't blame J/W's for it but they have to understand this world is not as nice as childern think.

I have never said that but ..

Some people (like me) were brought up a certian way. For example I was RAISED on the pew of a methodist church. I am accostomed to the methodist way of teaching. When a jehovas witness comes to the door time after time after time, it's annoying. I have sat and talked with a few in the past when my grandmother was visiting. I know what I disapprove of and that is MY RIGHT. The ten others that came to the door basically telling me I am wrong, that is not how to believe.. well I find that offensive. Get in my shoes for one minute, how would you like someone comeing to you and telling you the way you believe is wrong, shame on you for thinking so?

I can understand why people say it's harrasment. Harrasment is basically unwanted visits from someone. Someone bothering someone else. That is what these people are doing. God bless you for your beliefs, and that is not a pun. You are entitled to them, but shame on you for ever telling someone else they are wrong for believing this way. I can understand if they worship a poster on thier bedroom wall. I believe in God, I believe there is a god, but I do not believe in forcing others to agree. The bible says you have to make the decision on your own. That's another thing, the BIBLE is God's word, you have your own book entitled something else. It is not the bible. You can not take the bible and insert your own words and expect others to believe it.

I need to quit now because I think I will become to offensive, just when you think you are being accused of harrasing someone again. Consider what I said, the bible says you need to make the decision on your own, no body can decide FOR YOU.

You havent been looking too hard or not in the right places. Look at mixed family (one spouse is JW and the other not)breakdown that takes place. Then you will see harassment. Look also in the pediatric ward of hospitals. You will see some there too.

I wouldn't say "harass" is the right word. But really the whole idea of coming to another person's house to talk about your religion is too much. I mean, my mom was standing at the door for 1-2 hours listening to these people saying these things about their religion. I get annoyed by it because you really shouldn't push a religion on to another person. So there is my reason.

Well I just ran your brothers off with a gun. They leave me alone now. Getting labeled a crazy redneck has its advantages. Before I move to Texas, I would just hit on the same sex one in the most perverted way possible. They didn't come back then either.

Repeatedly bothering people is harassment.

If a true witness came to MY door no words would be necessary..the minute you speak you have lost my attention. You are a fake. Please don't return until you know who you really are.
