My father in law has over pronation in both his feet and he cannot get a pair of hiking boots to fit. He loves to walk his dog in the forest but with the boots he has got it is aggravating the condition. Money is not an object for the right boot! Can anybody help please?

The best thing for him to do would be to go to somewhere like Sub4 ( http://www.sub4orthotics.co.uk/comforthotics.html ), they will do loads of tests on his feet and customise special orthotics for him.

In terms of walking boots, Scarpa SL's are the best, these can be combined with the orthotics mentioned above for best results

Why no longer have him get a pair he likes and then visit a well being care service to get a prescription for orthotics? If he does have severe pronation he likely could be wearing orthotics on a classic foundation in any case. Plus, if he had the inserts he could replace them from shoe to shoe; fantastically if he had a muddy pair of operating shoes and wanted to placed on a clean pair- he could actual change the orthotics in and out! Podatrists could also prescribe orthotics yet I do have orthotics and could noticeably advise a foot and ankle professional (orthopedic health practitioner.) they are frequently sure that each little thing checks out a-ok. wish that permits!
