Please attempt to get his beginning certificate. A drivers license is large because it shows his photo on authorities issued identity. The beginning certificate is significant inspite of the truth that because it truly is the record that shows what his citizenship is. (i visit assume he don't have a passport because a beginning certificate is the established record needed for that) that is from the web web site: Required information even as entering Canada from america, U.S. voters could coach both a U.S. passport or different evidence of U.S. citizenship - alongside with an unique or qualified beginning certificate jointly with image id. U.S. voters entering Canada from a third u . s . must have a valid passport. A visa isn't required for U.S. voters for a stay as a lot as 100 and eighty days. it truly is a shame to have your holiday shrink short because of this.

More important will be to have identification for all who are traveling. Passport for you-Birth certificates for the kids and a notarized letter from their father giving them permission to be taken out of the Country if possible..

I am pretty sure that this changed in December. I live in Mexico, and the consulate passed out advisory notices that the U.S now requires Americans to have a passport to reenter the U.S.

Chump may be right, and Steve is definitely right. You will need permission from the father. Please be careful as well. The boarder towns are creepy and full of cons!

I believe the rules changed recently, and they are getting more stringent. You might want to have passports for you and your sons just to be safe.
