The problem about the process of this discussion is enormous. This is just a poor representation of archeology. The "findings" have not been run by experts, except those hand picked by James Cameron.
He's dropped a number of notches in the amount of respect I held for him.
He's made science look bad, because it is BAD science.

Well the "proof" of the gospels were written by people who walked and talked with Jesus while He was on the earth, not people born after his death and resurrection. I often wonder why people accept historical accounts about things that happened many many years ago based on the eyewitness account of one or two people. Yet the bible has too many eyewitness encounters to argue, even in a court of law. You should sit down and actually read the new testament without your biases.
As far as Jesus' tomb being found...it very well could be the same tomb. Doesn't really matter to me cause Jesus rose from death 3 days later and never looked back. By faith I heard this account from scripture and accepted it as accurate, by faith I came to believe in Him, and by faith did He actually draw me into the heavenly realms to have a first person encounter with Jesus. Yeah, I met Him, He lives, He has always and will always live. That is where you stumble, how can a man raise from the grave?
Jesus was given the power over death because God made him the ressurection and the life. Jesus Himself is life, He is how you breath right now. Basically Jesus is the King of the universe, a fact we will have to face sooner or later. There is a day of the Lords coming...get ready while it is light out, if you aren't prepared it'll come like a thief in the night. Peace friend! God Bless you.

First of all, who is jumping the gun? Even modern scholars are laughing at Cameron's assertion.
Second, what evidence do you have that Julius Caesar existed? Or Alexander the Great? Are you actually suggesting that these two people never existed? Take a look at the gap between the death of Alexander and the first historical reference to his existence. Then count the primary source material for the existence of Julius Caesar. You will either develop a very, very truncated view of history, or accept that the evidence suggests that Jesus actually existed. Even the most radically liberal scholars maintain that Jesus actually existed!

It's called jumping on the bandwagon. After the success of the Da Vinci Code and Gospel of Judas and countless books and movies inspired by them, Cameron decided there must be some milk left in that cow.

I do believe he existed alright, it's the mystery around his death that really gets in the way, and it is the lack of common sense, and logic that religion continues to push on the people that he rose physically into heaven, this is simply an impossibility, and being catholic it took me quite some time to understand the process.

you are mis informed, there is pleanty of historical evidence of the life of Jesus Chirst. there was more than 4 MAJOR Historians of the time who made mention of him in their writtings, these men were not Christians either, they were historians employed by the Roman empire. given time I could come up with the names of the historians who wrote about him, but if you did a search in the internet about 1st century history their names would probably pop up and you could read it for your self. but there is much proof that Jesus is an actual Person, the big question is one that has been debated since he came to earth, that being was he indeed God. there you must turn to the bible for your answers, the world cannot possibly answer that question with any certainty.
