I have a number of problems with my hair and I hope some of you can help.

1) My hair has split ends and thus it will look like I have several strands of hair sticking out.

2) My hair is coarse and when I comb my hair has a kind of 'entangled' feeling. How do I get my hair to be soft and disentangled like it used to?

3) I have been using Head n Shoulders conditioner so how long is it best to leave the conditioner in my hair?

I hope you all can help me, thank you :D

P.s. I am a male with middle-length hair.

First you need to get your split ends cut. If you do not want to cut your hair at this time, try a smoothing shampoo.

As for your coarse hair, you can go to a stylist, where they will thin out your hair, so it does not look and feel so heavy, and hard to manage.

I highly recommend seeing a stylist. I guess being a male, you do not visit a salon, but they can do wonders for your predicament.

Get your hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks. Condition it with a remoisturizing conditioner like Tresseme. To deep condition with this you do the following: Put alot of it on your head and then wrap it in plastic wrap. Follow with a warm damp towel and wrap it around you head. Keep it on there until it cools. Rinse your hair. Deep condition every 3-4 weeks. If it gets too oily, then adjust your deep conditioning treatments. Not only will this reduce the split ends, it will also soften the hair. When you comb it, make sure you are not combing it while it is wet, because you are stretching the hair, which causes breakage. If you must comb it, get a detangling comb. Once you get all the tangles out, then follow up with a regular comb. DO NOT USE A BRUSH ON WET HAIR! You can also use a detangler like Aussies Leave in Conditioner with tea tree oil .

Head and Shoulders is doing it to your hair I kid you not. I have lots of friends that use it and their hair is the same exact way. Try using a shampoo that gets rid of buildup in hair. the use a very heavy, good quality conditioner. leave it on for as long as it says too. don't use alot of product on your hair to style it. just a dab. it can build up in your hair and cause more problems.

Your hair should be trimmed every five weeks, I'm talking a quarter of an inch a month. I'm a retired Salon owner and Cosmetologist, go to any Beauty supply and buy a product called Porosity Control ph4.5. You will not be sorry. I used this in my salon for way over 20 years and great results.

i have never found that head and shoulder works, i know your a guy but try using Loreal or Sunsilk, they are the best conditoners. Leave it in for about 5 minutes. Or try putting olive oil on your hair, leaving in for about 30 minutes, and wash out. Hope this helps!

Have you been getting your hair trimmed? That might help a bit.
