Pastor Billy says: never read the book so until I do I can't say I agree with it. Secondly you are asking about the views of the author right and not the actual teaching of the Catholic Church.

All of the people answering with one or two exceptions are openly attacking the Catholic Church and makes you wonder why their positioning, why their rage against the Church and not the author.

Clearly your question has aroused the interest of anti-catholics who at the drop of hat will attack the Church for any reason.

The Catholic Church for the record has never claimed to be just one more denomination in Christianity. Denomination-hood was first established 500 years ago during the Protestant reformation and is therefore a product of Protestantism not Christianity. All Protestants (that includes Baptists) understand fully well from scripture there is but one physical and spiritual body of Christ (Church) . 7th day Adventists that pseudo-sect of Christianity also clearly understand like the others there is but one remnant Church of the scriptures. The Catholic Church therefore, claims to be nothing less than all the denominations of Protestantism also claim for themselves. It is true that there are those outside of the Catholic Church who are properly baptized and have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and savior are seen imperfectly united to the Catholic Church and therefore Catholics everywhere continually pray for their perfected unity within the One Church St. Paul taught on and Jesus Christ prayed about.

Simply if the question was "do you believe to be Catholic is the only way of being fully and utterly Christian" I would say it was that way for the first 1500 years why not now? answer is YES of course being Catholic is the full way. Now you should ask "What is it to be Catholic?"

While the catholic Church teaches that Catholicism has the fullness of the Christian faith (all of the books of the Bible, all 7 sacraments, and the communion of saints), the Catholic Church teaches that those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are rightfully called Christian and are considered brothers and sisters in Christ.

No. This is just a polite way of saying "my religion is right and everybody else is going to hell."

Catholicism is a perversion of the Word of God, in my opinion.
