I have been a fan of Dr. Suess since I was young.
Sure the words are silly, but if they encourage reading
and comprehension, who cares?!
I remember reading the Dr. Suess ABC book and
Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? many times a week.
I can still remember some of the lines as I type this :
Big T , little t . . what begins with T ?
Ten tired turles on a tuttle-tuttle tree.
My eldest daughter loved reading and now at age 11
still enjoys reading over video games and television.

Well, my personal favorite Dr. Seuss books that I always read to my kids when they were little was "Are You My Mother" or "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?", but my daughter (17) says her favorite was "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" and my son (15) says his fave was "Wacky Wednesday". My husband also chimed in and said his was "Horton Hears A Who"!!!

When I was a kid, I used to LOVE "Inside Outside Upside Down" and "Marvin K. Mooney, Will You PLEASE Go Home!" so much so, that over thirty years later, my mom and I can recite them still. I give these two books, along with "Green Eggs And Ham" and "One Fish Two Fish" and some others as baby shower gifts.
