I have had this addiction for about seven months now, I try to keep it under controll, but it is a daily battle, it is so consuming, now my daughter has found out about it and through my habbit, she has herself become addicted, I think Yahoo Answers has alot to answer for, anyone else have the same problem???

I'm addicted to Yahoo answers,,,,,.each a.m. I check to see if
anyone picked me as a best answer......LOL I feel disappointed
when they haven't.....
Only thing different from you and me is that I am retired with no
real obligations, such as children in the house so I can sit here
all day is I want, my husband too has Yahoo answers in his
blood so we talk and compare......
don't worry you soon will find something more interesting to do
right now it is cold outside so you are stuck in the house with
limited outside stimulus so you have made friends on Yahoo.
by the way you are a great mom.......the kid isn't drinking,
or shooting up junk..to me that's the worse thing a kid could do.

In 7 months you're a level 6? I'm level 2 in about as much time. You do spend alot of time on the 'puter, and it is addicting. I try to spend a little quality time with my kids in the day to make up for the time I spend on the computer.
I don't think you're a bad mother, I just think you're human and at least you're acknowleding it's not the best thing for your family which is the first step to a positive change. Good luck.

Don't be too hard on yourself. I think we've all gone through some bad habits; but the good thing is you recognize it and do something about it. Limit yourself to what you want to be on "Yahoo Answers." Give it time, you can cut down to one day a week or 2 days a month. Whatever feel most comfortable for you. Remember your family comes first.

I dont think ur a bad mother I just think u r a mother in a bad stage of her life. You said u are trying to control this addiction so you are trying your best.You need to get help for this addiction whateva it is. Y don't you try group therapy for both u and ur daughter.once you have the addiction sorted out you can try to sort out the other problems in your life. Good Luck

Me too although I am trying to wean myself off. Seriously sometimes I would be on here until 3 or 4 am. At this minute it is 23.10, my heating has went off at 10.30pm and despite it just being behind my I have been so engrossed haven't even pushed it to on and now getting chilled. You are lucky, my husband and daughters thing I am really SAD!!!

However, I'm even more addicted to the answers that have received replies from people who have a TOTAL sense of humour bypass!!
I also get a kick when I receive a 'violation' e-mail from such people!! THEY make my day!!
