I have bombed a house before with 2 aquariums in it. i used saran wrap, cling wrap, kitchen plastic wrap, whatever you want to call it to cover the aquariums. you only have to leave the house for about 4 hours

No, there really is no better solution. Unless you can leave the house for a few days with the heat completely off and in very cold weather...where they will die of the cold.

I suggest you reconsider the flea bombs as the cure is much better than having fleas.

If you do decide to do that, remember to do everything at once. Cover the fish tank, flea bomb according to directions..strictly! Then when you reenter the house, open windows, air it out, be sure to wash any blankets they may have hidden in. I even take the cushions off the couch and such to make sure they can't hide during the flea bomb.

Good luck, they are a pain but worth getting out and getting them gone.

PS Just vacuuming the floor won't do it. They will be in your couch, curtains etc.

Wash everything that is washable. then vacuum everything. even though you don't have carpet vacuum, and then throw the bag away. have someone take your kid for the day, and then spray everything with flea killer. don't bomb it. cover your fish tank. and avoid that area. fleas get in everything. so you really have to be clean and wash everything and vacuuming will suck up any eggs. and then continue spraying if you see any fleas at all . they can be a challenge because of the eggs. there is no product on the market that i know of that kills fleas in every stage of their life. so you have to keep up with the clening and spraying

the hardware sells bug bombs...you set the bomb and leave the house for several hours...becareful of open flames and put away all food stuff...and wash the eating counters after the time on the bomb says its safte..
this is cheaper then a professional exterminator..it worked for me and just cover the fish tanks or remove them...these fleas will get hungry and attack humans when they can't get the blood they need. are these fishes worth your mental or moral health?

One suggestion that I heard was to put flea powder (not tons!) into your vaccum cleaner bag and then vaccum your house. When the fleas get sucked into the bag, the powder kills them. Make sure to keep your child away from the powder, of course. If that doesn't work, you may need to fog the place.

Look it up on the net. You may have to move the fish for a couple of days.
