how do i get there? i havent been there, i've heard thats its fun, is that right? take the rain or to drive?

Take the train! A car in NYC is a problem not an aid. Its also expensive to park and there are lots of regulations as to where you can park if you park on the street. Its easy to get around the city by subway.
But Queens, fun place? Nah, go into Manhattan. Queens is dull by comparison. If you are taking the train you are taking the Long Island Railroad. Just take the train a few stops further west of Queens and it puts you in the heart of the city it should bring you into Penn Station(right under Madison Square Garden as a matter of fact). From there, you can catch any number of subway trains north or south on Island, depending upon what you want to do. Or you could go to street level and walk from there.

Train. Don't know where you are going in Queens exactly, but just take the Long Island Railroad in and then you can walk, cab or take the subway from here. Better than trying to find your way around and trying find parking which is scarce. Parts of Queens can be fun, depends on what you are looking for. It's more of a neighborhood type place, somewhere to live rather than anything else. Again, depends on what you are looking for.

If you drive take the LIE (Long Island Exressway) headed west. Queens is Queens. Lived there for 31 years and I don't know what's really fun about it. Keep going west into Manhatten...that's more fun.
