A dog will do ANYTHING if he/she is supplied with cookies for a job well done.

Just say "shake a paw" or "how do you do" and pick up his/her paw and shake it. Then give praise and reward with a cookie.

Getting your pet to roll over is a little more difficult. Make sure you teach him this on a carpet so he doesn't get a sore back.

You need to physically flip the dog over as you say "roll over". Once again, lots of praise and more cookies. Even if he cheats a little (not a complete roll over) give praise and reward with a cookie. Eventually he will get used to the feeling and do a complete roll over.

A word to the wise: Don't try to do too much in one day. You will only succeed in getting your dog ticked off at you.

Good luck. Hope this helps

what helped with mine was when i had a cook and would just bump her chest after i said shake. I would also pick her paw up. When it came to roll over I would have her lay down and then take a treat and go over her hear from right to left and she would just go through the motion. Another thing that's cool is when you get them to crawl. That one was pretty good as well too. Again once you have the lay down command, have them do it and then keep a treat on the floor and move back and just say crawl. Remember repetitiveness is the key. Best of luck. Dogs are super smart and can learn almost anything. Ours can stand an walk on their hind legs too.

be consistent. use one word for each command. DO NOT get angry when they dont catch on. and use cheese as a reward. not alot but it works wonders!
