help please, im going to work in the uk and want to take my chihuahua dog with me (4months old) hes a show dog so he has all the right papers and vet certificate. will he be quarantined! and for how long, why? and can i get around this by doing anything?

There is no way to get around it. Quarantine rules are very strict for a good reason.

As far as I know there is no way to avoid quarantine. It is usually for 4-6 weeks. All animals and animal products have to go through this procedure. Imagine what could happen if just one infected creature got past the screening. It could be devastating for the indigenous population.

It depends where you are bringing him from, that varies how long they will need to be in quarantene. I know the rules have been relaxed for europe but not other countries. Its best to check with your government whihch you can do by website or phone and also check with the airline you are travelling with.
