Though i have not experienced such things personally, but i have seen people come out of such problems by doing yoga & light aerobic exercises. Ask your physician if its ok for u to do such things & then do give it a shot. It wont harm you but you can possibly reap the benefits. All the best..get well soon.

Hi..over here paxil is called seroxat..same drug though!
I know how hard paxil is to get off, I was on it for same reason as u..panic attacks..
I dont know about Lexapro or Buspar but I'm guessing they're relatively similar..
All these drugs take time to start working, and all have side effects.
From my knowledge and I base my facts solely on the following:
(1) I was on seroxat (paxil) for panic attacks.
(2)My discussions with my brother who is a pyscho-analyst and reading on the subject
And I really believe that taking drugs for panic only mask the problem.. it needs to be dealt with, the underlying anxiety and negative thought patterns that are manifesting themselves as panic attacks need to be discovered and addressed.
Personally I found cognitive therapy from a clinical pyscologist helped me understand, identify and control my anxiety and eventually eliminated my need for these drugs.
This takes work and time but I recommend it.
The other 'weird feelings' you describe are all forms of the same problem- anxiety.
I've also found meditation, swimming, walking, yoga and all physical exercise help alleviate depression/anxiety.
Ask doctor to refer you to a clinical pyscologist, you wont regret it.
I know what you're experiencing, its horrible but u can be helped.
Good luck, email me if u wish
Paul

Jen...this is just my opinion and by no means am I a proffessional in the field but, here it goes...
#1. You really should be talking to someone you trust and cares about you in regards to these "issues", if you think or feel you have no one just look in the mirror and that someone cares A LOT that's why you post this. #2. I am not very impress with the countless psycho-tropics(drugs) out there; I remember trying some anti-depressants one time only to feel MORE DEPRESSED...I am serious drugs can be FATAL.
I think you need to relax more, look at all the beautiful things in life...for example I am taking the time to write to a perfect stranger instead of working on my overdue college paper. When you say "my whole adult life", that leads me to believe that there is a lot of work in terms of rebuilding your mental and physical health, but you know what "time is on (y)our side" like the song goes(Rolling Stones, I think!). Anyhow think of all the negative things only as a way for you too feel better, for example at least we are not in a Combat Zone in a foreign, or suffering from a terminal disease, or starving in poverty well you the pic.

I dealt with panic attacks periodically for thirty years. Once I was given Paxil the panic attacks stopped. It's been nearly five years and no way would I give up the Paxil.

If the buspar is working for the anxiety, talk to your Dr about putting you on a non-ssri anti depressant to go with it. Wellbutrin works well in many cases like yours. I have taken both together with good results. I know you're feeling awful right now. I've been there.
Good luck :-)

Well I personally have been through some of what you are speaking of..in the past I was diagnosed bi polar 1 with psychosis...but I was having a rough time in my life and although I still have bi polar my life and how i deal with it now are differently..I have dealt with a lot of psychological problems that I hadn't dealt with from my childhood and what not...that were causing troulbe for me in my personal life..sometimes if we don't deal with things they build up and succomb us...now I am not saying that is what you are dealing with, but some things medication just can't fix...some things are needed too be changed in life and dealt with or they will end up destroying us! But yeah things that you are gonig through are normal for some people although not all people go through them....I would say diet...and exercise sleep and eating are #1 important in getting your body right so then you can deal with your psychological things...otherwise how can you tell which is psychological and what is biological? And what is both? Healthy Body then Healthy mind..the body is hte easiest thing to get healthy..the mind takes a little more work! Hope that helps!

Sounds like anxiety. Dizziness, feeling awful, crying and worrying that you're going crazy. Yup, anxiety. Of course, antidepressant medications can make anxiety worse.
