Aside from the toxic batteries (NiCad produce a low level radiation and can pollute ground water sources) the other major negative impact can be seen at salvage yards. People talking on their phones are 5 times more likely to be involved in a Car accident then those who are not . (AAA) so with all those trashed cars it is a situation of unsightly blight and wasted resources that went into the creation of the car.
