Violent, the mature thing that you have power over is self control. You lost it, he won...

Your wife has probably heard worse elsewhere in these times..

You hit a guy for swearing today, what happens if something worse than someone swearing comes along.

Both, you are protective, but you lost your temper about it. Try taking a deep breath, counting to 5, and thinking about what will happen AFTER you do what you are about to do. If that makes any sence at all..

Just remember, there is a place to take it, but also a place to take it too far.

And restraining orders are easy these days, so be careful!

You were both.. however you were also taking a foolish risk. To do what that person did implies that he wasn't quite right in his head.. he could have responded with a weapon and you might have been seriously injured! Also, even though he deserved the punch, in the eyes of the law YOU would have been the one charged with battery.

i think a bit of both. it is good that you stood up for your wife, however, hitting a guy in front of your daughter is not necessarily teaching her the right things - children should be taught to talk their way out of situations wherever they can and not resort to violence.

Can I say both? It's good that you'd fight for your wife, but don't break a guys nose over swearing at her... Unless it was like, major slander. Like, really major.
