God. I am of Jewish heritage and none of my family has been religious or even believers. My kids were the first generation to be born in America, everyone else has been born in Belarus. Religious wasn't ever big in our town. My parents never taught me religion, or faith in god. I found out everything on my own. I believed in him, not religion, up untill my mother passed away when I was a young girl. I guess it scarred me, because I have not believe in anything. I really want to believe in God, I feel like it'll help me out in life. Something I can rely on or believe it. It feels nice to believe in something. How do I go about this. However, since I don't follow religion, I don't believe in it. Never have and I guess never will. I find it to be RUBBISH. All of it, inclduing Judaism, Christianity, Buddhism, etc. I have nothing against believer, by all means. I just feel like it's a bunch of babba jabba. Although, I want to believe in God. Can I be helpd?

God came to you remember that. Without any former belief system he put his spirit in you. You want to believe, guess what? you already do. Its not about the words and the sermons and how many times a week you go to church. Its about what is inside of YOU. I think the spirit of God is already in you so here is my suggestion. Pick up the ten commandments and live by what they say. Do good by God and he will do good by you. Its all in your faith not in your words. Anyone can say the words its how you feel inside that he is looking at. Good luck to you.

I was raised in a Jewish / Protestant setting too with none of us being believers (or at least talked about it :).

I'm finally starting to see that this universe is just to amazing to have been created by chance. Take a look at gravity, birth, energy, etc. Science can quantify it, but not tell you why it's there. I think if you just start accepting these 'big things' come from of a devine creator, you don't really need to worry about every arguing over the silly little things.

I don't understand what you mean, all religion is rubbish? Are you saying that you just want to believe that there is a God? That's like saying someone believes in abortion or not. It's just a belief then. What's the point if you don't believe in religion?

I hope you get the answers you are looking for becasue I am confused myself. Good luck and have a great day

If you are serious, pray to Jesus to send a believer who can show you its real, or direct you to a friendly church, He will hear if you are genuine.

You will have to hear a basic presentation of the gospel to get forgiven and born-again and come into a life of relationship with God.

As a Jew you can check out Sid Roth's website if you like - he has an online book of testimony of Jews who found Jesus.

Of course, you could also look at Islam and Judaism etc, but I'm a christian and so am commending what I am sure (myself) is God's path to eternal salvation.

How do you believe in God? You believe in God by believing in God. I respect you for staying away from religion (since it destroys), but the love of God can save. I am a follower of God and Jesus; not a follower of Religion. There is a difference between accepting God's love and following a religion.

Well, it sounds as if there is probably alot of uncertainty and stress in your life...a new country...children...a husband in the military....It's natural to seek protection and comfort under such circumstances, to find an all-knowing, all-powerful Father so that you can be a child again.
Of course, these natural desires do not make God or religion true. Your conscious, rational mind knows this.
My free, and wholly unqualified cyber-diagnosis is that you need to take actions to relieve stress in your life. Talk to a therapist. Mir.

It is easy to believe in God, look at all the beautiful things He has given us! For one, look in the mirror, you are one of Gods many miracles, you grew from a tiny seed planted in your mothers womb. Look to the sky, in the daytime you have the sun & clouds, rain or snow, depending on what season it is and where you live. At night you can see the beautiful stars, planets and moon. Now look at the beauty of what is on earth, there are the waters, like the oceans, lakes & rivers and the creatures that live in the waters. On land you have the green grass, flowers etc. And all the creatures that live on earth! Many do not believe in God, because they cannot see him. God is like the wind, you cannot see that neither, but you know it is there!

Any God you choose will have come through the minds of other people, so if you must have a god, why not just make up your own, just like they did? Or simply look to reality and not people.Understand things through science. Do what the religous cannot do and admit, 'God' is not known by men.

I want to believe in a god too, but it's not going to happen. Sure, it's sad that people die. But that doesn't mean there's a heaven. Whether you want to believe or not makes no difference the the fact that there is no evidence.
