All we really know is what others have taught us to know. We are fed there beliefs and we agree or disagree with what suits us.So, how does one honestly know the God honest truth about anything? If scripture is true when it says there nothing new under the sun, then we are just learning old recycled information. Am I right?

Sure. Unless you ae one of those people that practice Relativism. That is; whatever truth you make for yourself is just as true as anyone elses truth. I find that people who are that way pull anything out of their butt and think that it's truth. The Greek word, 'idiotes' means, in and of oneself. The word that we get our English word 'idiot' from.

From my perspective I know that what I believe about God, the Christian God, is true because I had a series of revelations that were spiritual experiences. They edified the teaching of Christianity. Now everyone cannot claim to have those experiences, but you asked about me, and I told you. I have met unbelieving people who doubt my story, but that's their thing. not mine.

That's why Christianity is a very personal relationship. Not only can we have spiritual experiences that are our own to believe, but we have the Bible-- ofter refered to as the 'Living word of God.' We say that because it doesn't need changing, though I admit, there have been changes.

We do not have to abandon the Bible because of those changes, but once aware of them we can question the verse and compare it to the rest of scripture to weigh the matter at hand.

We have so much of scripture and historic copies of it that we can compare it to the nth degree. It doesn't change our basic understanding of what God expects from us. And there are many details in it that bring us to the same conclusion; God is trustworthy.

God gave us the truth through the Bible even if it was written by men. God also gave us the Holy Spirit to guide us in the truth. God Bless

It's called "Faith."

I disagree with following examples taught by other people, except for Jesus. You are supposed to read the Bible for yourself and pray for understanding of what you are reading. This is why religion destroys. Nobody involved in "religion" actually does any research for themselves....they just trudge into church and believe what the priest is saying. You have to study it for yourself.

It really all boils down to this: Do you have love and compassion for your neighbors? Do you have compassion and love for people you don't know? Do you have love in your heart? Does your heart ache when you see a crying child that is lost and probably hungry? If you do then you know just a little about the love of God.

A person who is blessed with the spirit of God feel that what we are saying is true and can feel if it really touches your feeling or not, sorry for you. Nothing more to do

I know, I know, what I know is true, because I know, I know I studied it, and therefore I know it. Does this make it true? Not necessarily, but what I studied, whether true or not, is benefecial to all, and has good moral standards. So using the transitive property of Algebra, if message=true and message=scripture than scripture=true. What do you think of my hypothesis?
