Besides cavities, your biggest concern would be gingivitus....other people's concern would be the stank coming from your mouth.

As everyone else has said, decay, gum disease, bad breath but also the mouth is the portal to the rest of the body - everything you eat and drink has to pass through it and if it is a cesspit of bacteria every time you swallow these are passed down the line into your body. If your gums bleed either when you brush your teeth or spontaneously this is a portal of entry for bacteria directly into the bloodstream. Periodontal (gum) disease is a direct causative factor for cardiovascular disease, some pneumonias, a month or so ago Princeton found a link to pancreatic cancer and diabetes is also linked to say nothing of pre-term low birthweight babies. These are only the current known links something tells me that more will come to light in the coming years so save yourself a lot of future problems and BRUSH YOUR TEETH AND FLOSS!

Boy oh boy, I am the perfect example. When I was younger, I was too busy having fun to worry about the health of my teeth, I didn;t really understand. But now I do. By the time I was 19 I had a lot of plaque and many cavities. By the time my wisdom teeth came in, my teeth were very fragile. My wisdoms grew in horizontally and crushed my teeth into one another. All those places I had cavities turned into cracks. My first trip to the dentist consisted of getting 5 teeth extracted. A few months later I got rid of two more. Then I ended up with a shoddy dentist that covered one of my molars with a huge fuilling and pulp caps in two others. Then came the root canal and crown, then a second crown, and about 15 other fillings. In the end, 7 years later,I still have at least 5 root canals and MANY fillings still to take care of, ALL BECAUSE I DIDNT REALIZE HOW IMPORTANT BRUSHING YOUR TEETH IS. Just brush them and floss daily, you dont want to end up is such horrible pain, and haveing to spend all your dough to fix them!

A build up of plaque and acids , and uneaten food between your teeth , can encourage bacterial growth , leading to bad breath , tooth decay , gum disease , abscesses ........which if untreated can spread throughout your body, into your brain......and you could die !
Bear in mind that , this is a very extreme example. I have always brushed my teeth 3 times a day......but I have got tooth abscesses for the second time.
The first time caused all sorts of Digestive problems for me.......resulting in 10 years of problems !
Brush your teeth......and floss too ! OK :-))

Even a good once a day brushing is better than none...Try to do it once a day if you don't have the commitment for 3 times. Would it be so hard to do a quick morning and before bed brushing?

Bad breath, cavity, gingivitis, periodontitits and eventually lost your teeth, if one does not brush teeth regularly.
Your teeth are in your good care. Be kind to your teeth. Brush your teeth regularly or it will be too late if you lose them. Save your teeth before it is too late.

Cavities and gum disease which can lead to tooth loss.
Brushing *and* flossing are necessary to prevent that.
