Rice Krispies Caramel Squares
1/2 c. brown sugar, tightly packed 1/3 c. light Karo syrup
1/2 c. peanut butter
3 c. Rice Krispies cereal
Combine Karo and brown sugar in 2 qt. or larger saucepan and heat until mixture bubbles around edge of pan. Stir in peanut butter and mix well remove from heat. Add cereal and stir until fully coated. Line an 8 x 8 baking pan with wax paper and empty mixture into pan and with buttered hands press firmly into pan. Let cool slightly and then cut into pieces. Makes about 16 squares and is a little different than the marshmallow treats. In fact I prefer these over the marshmallow and not only do they taste better they are better for you. These can be made fast and stored in an airtight container or can be individually wrapped.
