There are loads of recipes that use cube steak, you will have to buy other ingredients though. Not sure what you would do with soup and steak but something awful does come to my mind.

Go to www.delia.com and find lots of lovely recipes that are foolproof. I think if you have been cooking your food with soup then it is time to try and follow a good recipe using fresh ingredients.

1 cup vegetable oil
1 pound cube steak steak, cut into 4 (4-ounce) pieces
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
1 egg, beaten
3 cups plus 3 tablespoons milk
1 1/2 cups plus 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Heat the oil in a heavy 9-inch cast iron skillet, to 360º F.
Using a meat mallet, pound out the meat. Season the steak with salt and pepper.

Combine the egg with 3 tablespoons of the milk. Put 1-1/2 cups of the flour in a shallow pan and season with salt and pepper. Dredge the steaks in the flour, coating each piece evenly and tapping off any excess. Dip the steak in the egg wash, coating it completely and letting the excess drip off. Dredge again in the flour, shaking off any excess.

Fry the steaks in the hot oil, until golden brown on each side, about 3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Season with salt and pepper.

Carefully pour off the oil, leaving behind about 1/4 cup, along with the brown bits.

Over medium heat, add the remaining 3 tablespoons flour and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, whisking constantly.

Add the remaining 3 cups milk, 1/2-cup at a time, whisking constantly. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low.

Season with salt and plenty of pepper. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, whisking constantly. The gravy should be thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. If it is too thick, add a little water to thin it.

Serve the fried steak and gravy with mashed potatoes and green beans.

How about Swiss Steak?

Salt and pepper them on both sides and fry in a couple tablespoons of oil on both sides until evenly browned. Add to your pan (assuming you have four cube steaks) 2 (15 oz.) cans tomatoes (diced, stewed, whatever you have on hand), two medium-sized sliced onions, two medium-sized sliced green bell peppers, one bouillon cube and a little black pepper. Cover, reduce to low, and simmer for 2 1/2 to 3 hours (adding more water if necessary) until tender. I serve it with mashed potatoes.

Country Fried Steak and Milk Gravy

INGREDIENTS
4 (4 ounce) cube steaks
1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
1 3/4 teaspoons ground black pepper, divided
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1/4 cup lard
1 cup milk

Pour off all but 2 tablespoons of the fat. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of the dredging flour into oil. Cook over medium heat for 1 minute, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of skillet.
