... what someone of normal mental capacity who hasn't accepted Christ that then goes into a coma for years (kept alive for years with a feeding tube court-ordered thanks to fundie christians).

After 20 years, he dies. Does he go to Heaven or Hell?

Forget coma, how about when we are asleep? It must all just go back to the last time we were conscious. Pretty bad theology, huh?

Actually according to the Bible the reality would be that they are lost, provided of course they were not children ie below the age of understanding before they went into the coma, it is really simple while you are alive and able minded that is the time to choose Christ.

If that is indeed the case then it would be reason enough to keep a person alive for as long as possible in the hope that they might recover, and accept Christ.

And like Bejay above it might be an idea to be a bit more sensitive in your use of words as there are many people in the midst of a situation similar to what you have described.

you don't have to accept the messenger Jesus ( peace be upon him ) to go to heaven. a person who is sane and has reasonable mental capactity would pray and worship God not the messenger. for someone without mental capacity who does not have sound mind, in my opinion would be going to paradise, but in the end with all matters God holds the scales and God is the decider

Good question! anyone who says no cannot possibly be a true christian!

Isn't God supposed to be all forgiving?

Especially of those who are unable to make informed decisions.

Mind you I'd suggest you watch your choice of language as it is insulting to many people and their carers.

We should be more concerned whether we go to heaven, than with hypothetical questions. You won't be that concerned with his fate, yours will be your No 1 issue.
