I am using free cable TV right now. So therefore I do not have a cable box. I know I can get local chanels in HD with an antenna, but if I am receiving cable tv without a box is there any way to get cable HDTV? I just got a sharp aquos with 1080p and i wanna use the HDMI hookup.

I have an HDTV and the cable company at first rented me a cable card, but you couldn't use the on-demand channels, record, etc. Now I know you don't have a box but I was just putting that out there for you. You should be able to hook up the Antenna and get to it (while still using cable) either through the button on your remote titled: Antenna or via the source menu. Back in Columbus, OH, Time Warner and the Company that owned ABC and FOX couldn't agree on money. So in order to watch sports in HD on ABC or FOX I had to buy an Antenna myself and channel search on the Antenna to find the Channels b/c they were like channel 6.3 and 7.1 or something weird like that. Hope this helps.

I hooked up my old rabbit ears antenna to my HDTV and get a mix of 73 analog and digital HD channels. When more stations start brodcasting in HD I'll switch to HD cable.

Most local stations are now broadcasting HD as well as analog signals. they are not on the same channel as on cable. there are antenna's that will receive the HD signal for your set.
You DO NOT need cable.
Now they station may not broadcast 24/7 in HD. Check online with your local stations they will have info on their HD signal

Reading the book instead of watching the movie is the ultimate way to see what the author planned. Reading uses your imagination, hones your reading skills, and can transform your life vocabulary
