Not all women. I, personally, loathe the idea. If women needed men to protect them, my karate class wouldn't be 50% female. I can fight my own battles. And if I have a nightmare, well, who cares?

Some do. They feel that nothing can go wrong w/ the ones they love. Some, more independant women, like to be free and unprotected. I like being protected, cuz im a worry wart, but i know ppl who don't.

Of course we do. But there is a line that needs to be drawn when it comes to boyfriend's protectiveness. If you're out and get beligerant with a man who may be looking at your girlfriend - thats when its annoying. But if there's someone grabbing and constantly making your girlfriend feel uncomfortable and you take them out - then I would be glad, and feel comfort in that knowing that someone cared for me enough to proctect me when I NEEDED IT! Don't just do it to look like a big shot - that's when its annoying. And I wouldn't suffocate her either. You have to be able to read her and know when she wants it, cause when she doesnt, she really doesnt! trust me.

I can only speak for myself and I certainly like the idea of being protected too.

yeah dude. One time i was outside with just me and my ex girlfriend two guys approached us wanting to start problems with my ex. My exgirlfriend locked herself in the car while i was outside with these guys. One of them took a swing at me and missed I grabbed him and slammed his head threw the window where my exgirlfriend was, after that they both took off but i had to repair my side window which was 200 bucks. my ex was really impressed tho.
