I've delivered my baby girl in Oct 2006. Currently no longer breastfeeding. I'm thinking of losing weight & fat asap. Any supporters for no carbo & no red meat diet? Basically, I plan to eat mainly Vegetables, Fish & chicken for lunch & dinner. For breakfast, it will just be oats & milk. No rice & noodles. I also intend to go to the gym about 3 times a week.

I tried the no-carbs diet in preparation for my wedding. I did lose weight. The most effective time line is 2 weeks and you can only go on this diet for about 6 weeks before you need to resume a balance diet for the next 6 weeks and thereafter you can go back to the no carbs diet... a 6-week cycle.

If you want to go on this diet you also have to refrain from sugar and processed food - food that contains sugar ie. - fruits, milk, bread... drink coffee / tea without milk or sugar....

All the best... remember don't go for more than 6 weeks at a time!

Eating mainly vegetables, fish and chicken, oats and milk is a great idea for a healthy diet. Add moderate exercise at least three times a week and you should begin seeing the results you want. A moderate amount of carbs will give you the energy you need for your workout and as long as you are burning more calories than you are putting in, you will not gain weight in fat. If you don't want to be fat, do not eat fatty foods. If you want to lose weight, burn more energy than you put in. That's the key. I have followed this advice myself and have two children, am 33 years old and I am wearing smaller clothes sizes than I did in highschool and have just as much strength and energy as I did then.
