More than 500 abandoned cats live on land where the construction of the high speed train tracks between Madrid and Barcelona will soon begin. The cats suffer from cold, hunger and mistreatment, and the City Council of Barcelona hasn't done anything to resolve this problem. Many cats have been killed in the course of earlier public projects in Barcelona, and we want to avoid another massacre. However, the City council has ignored our petition and the local media sarcastically claim that the cats live happily along this route and that are other more important things for the local council to discuss. If we can't get concrete promise to create controlled cat colonies and to do TN"R" (trap-neuter-"return to safe places") soon, most of the cats will be killed by the construction works or by the insensible people who poison these poor animals.

Do you visit Barcelona?

Many cities in Spain wade through issues from feral cats. i wager many countries have this issue. I stayed a wintry climate in Benalmadena on a deliver, and there have been quite some cats residing in among the rocks which formed the numerous breakwater. As someone said already, they're a nuisance and a threat to public well being. maximum are diseased and carry all kinds of different parasites. I understand a number of your concerns even as it includes culling, besides the undeniable fact that it truly is likewise merciless to allow those cats to proliferate even as they are of route undesirable and except for some 'do-gooding' travelers who pop up for a week or 2 and then disappear living house again. i do not advise to sound merciless the following, yet truly the perfect could be in the journey that they were humanely placed down quite of suffering as they unavoidably do. each now and then the perfect issue isn't continuously the most everyday.

No I don't know and I haven't been there.
I know its so sad. In different countries there are a lot of inhuman beings around.
I know that in Asian as well.
I was in Malaysia last month and where I was visiting, there were so many cats that I lost count of those poor beautiful creatures, and lots of there are pregnant.
I called the council but they didn't even come to check.
