a: Television: Satellite television with the likes of Pat Robertson, TBN, and the others.

Shows: Gilmore Girls (don't know if it is still on or not), The Simpsons, 7th Heaven are generally shows which portray Christianity in a neutral or positive light.

Others usually show the Christian as the hypocrite that will have an adulterous affair at the first person to make a pass at them.

Others show Christians as deranged bible thumpers that are usually ax murderers. This is especially prevalent in movies (anything by Steven King), Cape Fear (the remake with Robert Deniro). Bill Maher hates Christians and it shows on his HBO show.

b: Complaint #1 - The content of media advertising plays to the stereotypes that are out there: Sexy hot married mom that is smarter than the bumbling goofball lovable dad tells him how to do what he needs to do; Single loser guy wants to swill beer and oogle babes drenching themselves with cold beer on the tube while discussing sports.

Complaint #2 - Media ads are created by out of touch New York or LA morons that use democraphics specific to their region to determine what passes as a good advertisement. There are 300 Million Americans out there and only a handful live in the LA basin or NYC. Get out there and reach the people by going somewhere in Kansas one day.

I'm not sure what is meant by different ways religion is shown, unless it's something like documentaries, or live church programs on TV, or religious advertising.
People might complain about media advertising if the advertising makes claims that are false, or if the advertising contains vulgarity or nudity.
