That's not why I called you self-righteous. I called you self righteous because your last several questions seemed to be exalting your wonderful view of yourself, as if you were not a sinner. Like someone who thinks that they have moral authority over the rest of us.

You are a sinner. And IF you trust God you are saved by trust in God through Jesus Christ. That's a definition of Christian faith.

Morals coming from ourselves is filthy rags, will worship. At least from God's perspective. God is in contact with us not because we are moral, but because we trust him. He made a promise, and we are accepting it through faith.

I'm an Atheist and I've never called a Christian self-righteous. Maybe confused and told them it's a waste of time. But it's their time to waste. The only real thing I hate about Christians, or any other religion for that matter, is their attempts to inject their beliefs in the lives of other people. If they just kept their beliefs to themselves I'd have no problem with them at all. But, nooooooooo, they don't seem to be able to do that.

Often Christians are so concerned about "being an example" that they are more concerned with their righteousness than the righteousness of Christ. They are reluctant to admit their flaws, sins, unrighteousness, thinking they bring dishonor to Christ if they do. Other people see thru that and scoff.
On the other hand there will always be those who scoff at Christian values and morals and make personal attacks. It shouldn't be taken personally. Remember we are not to seek the approval of the world or even other Christians. God alone will judge each one and He knows your heart, so console yourself with that.

Asking a question about morals and a moral code on this site is dangerous. The religious fanatics and zealots that exist on this site - spout from the bible texts like a machine gun, with little understanding of the question, total ignorance of the meaning of a moral code, and without any thought or proper research into the subject matter. Because they believe that THEY are RIGHT and everyone else is WRONG. They are intolerant, bigoted, moronic and worse - they are religious!

Why in this Kingdom of hell with violence and mayhem so prevalent would people judge you for being self righteous,I think the real witch hunt here is in the question you posted, even so theres only one true judge and thats God.

It seems one must have a "stern journalist" vibe to get people to listen much. People may be quick to anger because some material goes on and on like something holy will just seep in but it does not.

Most Christians get that...and let me say as a Christian...this is not a fourm or site to pose christian conversation...,your intent as a Christian is to bring others to him...not argue..YOUR point for the sake of being right...whats the goal here???..

Perhaps you are posing your questioning to the "wrong/unchristian group" of people.........take your christian views and questionings to your Church group settings.....I believe you'll receive much more wholesome responses......
In God I trust...........

Some of it comes from fear of them maybe being wrong and they do not want to give you a change to prove them wrong.
