I removed the wallpaper and some of the finish surface was removed or torn away in doing this job. I want to paint the walls.

As others have said, you will definitely want to skim coat the wall with drywall compound and then sand it smooth. Also after you are done look for any spots that are discolored, this can happen if you have some old wallpaper glue still adhering to the wall. To prevent these stains from bleeding through when you paint the wall, you will first want to treat these spots with a product called Killz that will seal and neutralize those stained areas.

Spread a thin layer of drywall compound over this area with a wide trawl, let dry and sand smooth , then paint with white primmer and then a good quality latex semi gloss wall paint.

just buy a patch and use joint compound to paste it onto the wall. then when it is dry, use sand paper to smooth it down. once that is done, paint!

hope it comes out good!

the best way would be for someone to come in and skim coat the walls for you.....but if you are not looking for perfection, then you can patch and sand the areas so they are as smooth as you can get them.....good luck

You need to paint the whole room, or cover that spot
